Getting Started with ATAK/iTAK
📲 Enrolling with a QR Code
- Ensure you have ATAK (Android) or iTAK (iOS) installed.
- Use the QR Scanner plugin in ATAK or the built-in camera in iTAK.
- Scan the enrolment QR code generated on the main page.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect to your TAK server.
📦 Importing Settings or Packages
- Use the Import QR if you have a
.zip
TAK package file.
- You can upload the file or paste a Dropbox link (ensure it ends in
dl=1
).
- After scanning the QR code, ATAK/iTAK will prompt to import the file automatically.
📋 Bulk Enrolment via CSV Upload
To generate multiple enrolment QR codes at once, upload a CSV file in the following format:
host,username,token
takserver.example.com,user1,MyPass123!
takserver.example.com,user2,Welcome2024
another-server.net,user3,S3cur3#Key
Each row must include a valid TAK server hostname, username, and token.
🛠 Troubleshooting
- If nothing happens, ensure your camera has permission to access the app.
- Make sure the full enrolment URL isn't truncated — test using a QR decoder like QRCode Raptor or ZXing.
- Dropbox links must be shared publicly with
dl=1
for automatic download.
🔐 Security Note
For maximum security, prefer Dropbox-hosted config files to avoid server-side storage. Files uploaded directly to this service are temporary and not guaranteed beyond a short window.
